Thumbs up Now That AR Is Over, Tell Us

what travel excursions you have planned for this summer? Any interesting or exciting vacations to plan to take in the upcoming months? As for myself, along with my family we are taking a cruise to the Greek Islands and Turkey. Looking forwarding to this trip.

Wow, that sounds like a wonderful trip! I've always wanted to go to the Greek Isles, and Turkey would be amazing as well. Have you been to either place before?

I went to Morocco in March, so that took up most of this year's travel budget. My only upcoming plans are a few domestic trips: Ocean City, NJ with my family for our annual week at the beach, and then a few days with my mom this fall in Santa Fe -- or anywhere else where we can find a great airfare. I'd be open to Charleston or Savannah, or Chicago maybe...but she's got her heart set on Santa Fe. We'll just have to see.

Yes I have been to these 2 place once before in 1999. It was also a cruise. I highly recommend it. Morocco sounds very interesting and exotic. It must have been amazing did you see any of the places that the teams on AR went to when they were in Morocco?

Yes, Morocco was amazing! We went to Casablanca, Errachidia, Fes and Meknes -- not sure if AR went to any of those places or not? I remember them going to Ouarzazate (I think in season 9), which is one place we didn't go. But in one of the very earliest seasons they may have been in Fes -- or was it Marrakech? Can't remember which.

I wrote a (rather lengthy) trip report about our trip to Morocco. You can find it here if you're interested: Magical Morocco.

Can't wait to hear about your trip! Hope you'll tell us all about it when you get back so we can live vicariously through you.

I absolutely love the Greek Islands and am am slowly getting round to visiting them all!... although it is a 'slow' job as i find i keep going back to certain ones as i love them so much!....

i have had in my mind for a few years now to go to the port in Athens and just see what boats are going to what islands and make a decision from there and then just go with the flow!.... but i have never actually got around to it yet!...

I did visit Turkey for the first time a couple of years ago and must say that was equally as nice as Greece so will probably go back there again..

Another thing i fancy is going on a Gulet Cruise they look like they are very relaxing... as you can guess by now i love being on boats!.. has anyone else been on one of these cruises? i would be interested in what you thought of it!...

First week in June, NYC for the BookExpoAmerica. Last week in August, Alaskan Cruise finishing up in Anchorage for the last weekend of the Alaska State Fair. (We have developed a tendency to arrive at a locale when they are having a Fair or something, Never planned to go, but since we are in the area. . . )

Just curious, which are your favorite Greek islands, the ones you keep going back to? I plan to get to Greece someday and want to know where to start.

I don't know what a Gulet cruise is -- can you tell me more about it?

Oooh, Book Expo America sounds fun. Will any big-name authors be there?

Yep. all of them. One of the nice things about being in the book business is that in order to get books into the customers' hands they GIVE us the new books before they are available. This year some of the notables are Richard North Patterson, Charles Grodin (the actor), Alan Greenspan, Bruce Dern, Rupert Boneham (from Survivor) but they currently have about 400 authors scheduled.

Sorry but it is an industry only show.

But I am gonna have a good time. I'll look out for Phil since he is promoting a new book, he might be there.

Oh man, if you see Phil there you'll have to meet him on behalf of all of us!

    Have a great time...

Yes I will be reading your review. And when I get back I will write all about my trip. It won't be till August, God willing. Maybe I can post a picture or two also.
