drinking age

I know that the drinking age in Iceland is 20, but I am going there for my 18th birthday, and being English will be expecting to hit the town hard. Does any know how tight the bars and clubs are on I.D. and if they are tight what forms of I.D. they accept?

The law is the law and it is that way for a reason. To save you from yourself.

Do yourself a favor and save your own life. Have you not seen enough on the news to see enough of people your age either dying or coming to near death situations to know that breaking the law is just not worth it? Going someplace simply because you are legally might be allowed to drink does not mean you are mature enough to drink or physically able to handle what happens to your body when you go to excess.

Iceland is a fascinating country and there are more things to do there than worry about tight drinking! Enjoy it for what it is, not what you can do in shots!!

I couldn't agree with you more. I think that it's a waste of time for people to visit a country and not be lucid enough to appreciate the sites and sights

I think different countries have their different laws for the drinking issue so if you are there then have to follow that rules simply so its more convenient for you.
