Poll of the Week: Fall Travel

Autumn is just around the corner! What do you like best about traveling during the fall?

I love autumn! That's why I am getting married in October, tee hee! We are going to Sonoma this fall for our honeymoon and I think it's going to be just perfect.

I voted for early Christmas shopping, festivals (Oktoberfest, hello?!) and cooler temperatures. There is nothing better than exploring a new place on a crisp day.

Fall is fantastic for just about every option offered (including the fewer kids option -- I don't have any and so prefer to avoid kiddie craziness but my friends with children also love it for short romantic getaways). The biggest challenge is to outlast summer, when you really want to kick back and relax but which is always crazier, busier and favorite places are more crowded, antic and expensive.

To me, Labor Day isn't the end of a season, it's the beginning of one!

Foliage and festivals, definitely! Fall always makes me a little depressed because I love summer and I'm sorry to see it end, but the lovely colors and the fall foods -- pumpkin pie, apple cider, etc. -- make up for it a bit. Also, I love to hike, and fall is probably the best time of year for that.
