The other thing I do is just general stuff for good health -- eat my veggies, get lots of sleep, etc., in the days leading up to the flight. That way my immune system is in good shape before I get on the plane.![]()
I am so afraid of germs when I'm flying. After all, there are all those studies out there about how people on planes are more exposed to germs -- and more likely to get sick -- than people who are not flying. I am addicted to hand sanitizer, and I try to never touch my eyes, mouth or nose while in the air.
How about looking at an alternative to flying with cabins full of recirculated air. It will be a more sustainable travel mode as well.
When we book our seat in any airlines, we don’t know who is going to sit next to us. After boarding, if I find the person suffering from disease, I ask to change my seat. I don’t think that planes of reputed airlines are dirty in themselves causing infections.
Another preventative measure is to take an immune booster like echinacea before getting on your flight. Here's to flying germ free!
I can't say that I've ever thought about it- if I catch a cold then I deal with it- I don't know of anything which can handle a virus like that, despite years of research at the Common Cold unit......where, for generations, they've paid volunteers to have a few quiet weeks being exposed to the virus and trying every kind of treatment.....
At my age, apparently I've gone through most of the 52(?) different types of virus, so I don't often suffer. Keeping fit and eating well seems to be the best thing.

I take Olive Leaf and Pau d'Arco (2 of the best-known anti-viral supplements). I also use saline nasal spray regularly. Always wipe arm-rests and TV screen and handset down thoroughly with alcohol wipes (which I carry with me at all times). Before using the toilet, wipe the seat with these wipes!!! and when you exit the toilet use hand sanitiser. You may end-up looking like a ""paranoid freak"", but hey!, if it stops you getting sick...(which these things do), it's worth it.
