    Default what to wear???

Okay, typically woman question here. But do I need to dress any different for traveling around England, France and Ireland? Typically I would wear jeans, is that okay or do I need to stick more to the khaki or slightly more dressed up than jeans? I'm going to be walking around with my big ol' camera, so I'll obviously be looking like a tourist, but I don't want to dress like a sloppy American.
    Thanks!

    Hey there,

You're right -- no matter what, you will look like a tourist. So the most important thing is for you to be comfortable. I wore jeans a lot when I was traveling around all of those countries. (I was about 20 years old at the time. Maybe I was able to get away with looking like a sloppy student? )

It certainly wouldn't hurt to step it up to khakis or something a little nicer than jeans, as long as you're still comfortable. You'll fit in a little better and probably give a nicer first impression as well. I'd definitely try to avoid wearing those T-shirts with big old writing on them (like an "I heart New York" T-shirt or whatever), because those scream American. Try to go for solid colors.

Hope that helps and that you have a great trip! Be sure to come back and let us know all about it.

You won't look sloppy in jeans. Jeans and a plain white shirt is really cool.

I doubt it, unless you're aiming at some of the very, very top places in cities. It used to be customary to wear jackets, ties, cocktail dresses etc....but the culture has changed so much now across Europe.
There's still a custom of smart wear in France and Italy, but again, the youth have changed that.
