Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Tahaa and Bora Bora

I am traveling for three weeks in December with my husband and my 10 yr. old daughter. We did frequent flyer miles between Seattle and HNL, and then got amazingly good airfare on Hawaiian to PPT (Papette). We have found checking Tripadvisor for specialty lodging is the best way to find the "off the beaten" track gorgeous places to stay (and cheaper). Does anyone have any advice, ideas, stories to share about this part of the world. We are very excited! Getting interisland airfare seems to be tricky. The Air Tahiti website sucks.

I guess I am a little late but I would recommend Moorea as it gives you the same backdrop, sunsets, and beaches as Bora Bora without the huge costs. While it isn't cheap you will save money over the more luxury islands and probably even get a slightly larger living area. The other islands are focused more entirely on the whole luxury experience which is great but I think most can scrape by with Moorea especially if you are on a budget or traveling in a large group.
