We wander about, and watch the locals to see where they're going, especially in France, Spain and Italy. In some countries, we look for the cleanest place!
In capital cities, we try the back streets, for better prices, and in hot countries we check how much more it is to eat on the terrace.

I do a lot of wandering, asking, and guidebook checking.I love eating, but actually looking for a restaurant is one of my least favorite parts of traveling. Maybe I'm too picky!

Just look around and follow the locals. You may strike out occasionally (can you believe bad beef in Buenos Aires?) but 9 out of 10 times you'll do really well and save money, too!
