Independent "cruising" in Greece?

Hi - I've just registered and have a question. A few years back I read about a cruise ship that ran a regular circuit along the coast of Greece. It was geared towards independent travelers and was more like a floating hotel in that it was for people who wanted to eat on shore. In addition, you could stay over in any port of call and catch it again on its next time through. It was also very reasonably priced.
Does anyone know the name of the company that does this, or if they're still in operation? I tried a variety of sites and searches and came up empty handed.

Hi Rob,

It sounds like you're talking about easyCruise, which ran inexpensive, hop-on/hop-off Greek cruises for several years. Unfortunately, the company is pretty much defunct. A colleague at our sister site, CruiseCritic.com, suggests Louis Cruises (http://www.louiscruises.com/) or Zeus Casual Cruises (http://www.varietycruises.com/) as other potential options.

We've had no problems with Louis cruise, although they use older ships and may be lacking the facilities of newer-and more expensive-cruise ships. Louis are usually very port intensive, and will have passengers from all over the world on short, inexpensive journeys.
You might also look up Thomson cruise, which again uses older ships for a relatively cheap break....this line caters more for the UK market, and has excellent entertainment. They normally have ships in Greek/Turkish waters in summer.

That's fine, Rob....Stelios, who started easycruise is something of a hero in the UK- his easyjet is a great asset to our flights. He had this fantastic idea to do something similar with ships, but sadly, it hasn't succeeded. We need more people with ideas like Stelois in this world!
