New Caledonia

Hey guys, glad to be back again! Who’s been to the New Caledonia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area is it an independent country, a colony or section of the Schengen area? Share your thoughts on that area, sights or rather anything about the place.

I thought New Caledonia was part of the Melanesian Islands in the South Pacific, discovered by Captain Cook....it reminded him of Scotland, whose other name is Caledonia....
The Schengen agreement is between the majority of European countries; the UK didn't sign up to it, so "Old" Caledonia, i.e. Scotland, isn't part of Schengen. It doesn't make much difference to UK people at Immigration, as we all have an EU passport.
