I suppose I was a busy bee when I was younger, but I've seen a lot of things in my long life, and so don't get too excited by an old castle, oil painting, or ruin. In fact, this year in Venice, when my OH visited every single part over 2 days, I chose Vivaldi's church, then wandered down back streets- and visited a bar or two.....but, I have been before and seen the main sights.
I've never been into the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa, but I've had a picnic in the grounds....I don't really want to see the famous- more the way of life of people.
In all the years we've visited Mallorca, I've never been into the vast cathedral- but I've met many people in different villages there, and enjoyed strolling through the country paths. I don't take expensive cruise trips to Rome- but I do go on the cheaper ones around Tuscany, to see the villages and fields. Neither have we felt a longing to see the pyramids from a Red Sea cruise- but we enjoy studying the sea life in the coral reefs.
Bit of a dead loss as a traveller, really-you'd better not come with me!

I used to try to cram a lot more into a trip than I do now. When I was backpacking around Europe, it was go-go-go every day! Now I try to take my time a little more because one of the feelings I HATE is having to leave a place too soon, feeling like I've shortchanged it. I also hate spending too much time in transit and not enough time actually seeing things.
