Not a city, but a whole island is alive with the works of Cesar Manrique.....from murals, statues to underground cavern pools and lava tubes. He wouldn't let anyone build high storied hotels or offices, and he decided on a few basic colours for painting these buildings. The island is Lanzarote, one of the Canary Island group. A holiday there is worth it for the art alone.....plus there's the winter sun and sea....

Michael Angelo's David takes my breath away every time I see it!!

The El Alamein Fountain in Kings Cross, Syndey, AU.
Graffiti on the part of the Berlin wall that was left up; the spectacular pieces for sale at Checkpoint Charlie Museum...pricey, but priceless
