STARWOOD HAWAI‘I LAUNCHES FLAVORS OF ISLAND MUSIC CAMPAIGN KICK OFF CONCERT on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m
The hotel that has featured island entertainers since its opening day in 1901
This FREE Concert under the Banyan Tree will feature nationally-acclaimed songwriter and musical artist Michael Ruff, International musical idol Danny Couch http://www.dannycouchfanaddicts.com/introduction.htm Hoku Award winnersRobi Kahakalau and Sean Na‘auao http://www.dannycouchfanaddicts.com/RecentCDsforawardcontention.htm the Ka‘ala Boys. In addition,The Zanuck Lindsey Trio, Ells Simeona and Dwight Kanae will be onstage.

“The romance with Waikiki and the islands partly began through images conjured up by the exotic sounds of the ukulele and the melodic voices of entertainers who performed at the Moana and The Royal Hawaiian during the early days of tourism. We want to do our part to keep this legacy of island music alive.”

Starwood Hawai‘i’s local stars will perform throughout the evening including Ka`ala Boys, Sean Na`auao Trio and Tino & the Rhythm Klub

• Aloha Festivals Kauai Falsetto Competition, September 10
The Sheraton Kauai Resort
The competition will feature special guest artists Na Palapalai, the 2005 Na Hoku Hano Hano Best Group of the Year and Hawaiian Album of the Year

• Aloha Festivals Hawaiian Falsetto Contest, September 23
The Royal Hawaiian, Monarch Room Go to our Feature, A Royal New Year http://www.dannycouchfanaddicts.com/newyear.htm
The historic and beautiful Monarch room is the venue for falsetto contestants vying for a recording contract with Hula Records. The public is invited to experience this unique art form where performers throw their voices into the upper registers of the musical scale to sing stories of Hawaiian culture.

Sheraton Waikiki, Hawai‘i Ballroom
A New Year’s Eve concert featuring Kelly Boy Delima and son `Pena Boy Delima; Kanilau; The Makaha Sons; Robi Kahakalau; The Opihi Pickers; Kapena, Herb Ohta Junior, Halau N Mamo O Ka`ala and Soldiers of the Royal Guard.
