Hi there,
Pretty much I would say YES! You are beeing a little bit unrealistic regarding two points here. Cash and time. Let me explain. This route is huge and therefore "making" it in 2-3 months is going to be very stressful rather then relaxing. However there are people doing such a route within this time - you need to plan VERY WELL though! Time however wouldn`t be such a big problem here. You might do the trip down from Indonesia down to TH and up to Burma again within a month so this is not the point. I guess its going to cost you much more. Do you want to fly? Go by bus? Rent a car? This are all very costly trips and it sums up. If you want to enjoy yourself, you won`t be able to cause you have too save your money. Its sounds like 2000 is not going to bring two people far. Better skip it down, take your time and relax on your holidays if the world doesn`t come to an end (Sorry, I had to bring it - couldnt resist). My motto is: Relaxation and only the most important spots bring about awesome memories! Cheers Menny
