Well, I haven't been to many places in Canada at all, but I love Montreal -- the historic section is so pretty.

On my list for the future is Prince Edward Island. I'm a huge Anne of Green Gables fan!

My favorite spots in Canada have included Montreal and Quebec (easily combined in a single trip), Cape Breton Island, NS, and Prince Edward Island (easily combined in one trip now that a bridge links Nova Scotia and PEI), the Canadian Rockies -- including Banff and Lake Louise, and Vancouver (easily combined with Victoria). Toronto and Ottowa are also worth a trip. Plenty of great choices!

Quetico park... so many rivers to paddle down, big trees, beautiful waterfalls.

I have several favorites but for different reasons. I love Quebec City in Quebec, it's got so much character and the old city part makes you feel like you are in europe somewhere - but without the jetlag and expense!

Montreal is a great cosmopolitan city with a decided French flair in the great food and with the sound of people talking in French so it makes you feel like you're further away than just in north america. Don't worry, people all speak english too, since Canada is officially a bilingual country!

Toronto is also one of my favorites. There's always so much going on in toronto, and if you can combine a trip with the Toronto International Film Festival in early September, you'll be in for a treat if you like to mingle with the world's top A-list celebrities.

Susie2000 -- There's a good chance I will visit Quebec City in the latter part of this month of October 2008 ... my FIRST visit. Do you have any recommendations from personal experience about low-to-medium-priced lodgings, and neat places to eat?

Any suggestions will be appreciated! -- Desert J

Lake Louise, Alberta is my favourite place in canada. Deep in the Canadian Rockies a large turquoise lake trickles from the thousands year old glacier in the distance. The Fairmont Hotel is world class and books visitors months in advance. But don't let this deter you from visiting, there are many camp-grounds that make visiting fun and affordable.

i think whistler's an excelllent place to visit in the summer as well as winter - there's so mush to do.

i personally love the fact that in spring you can be up snowboarding in the morning then canoeing on the lake in the afternoon.

My fair favorite place to visit in Canada is Quebec City followed by Banff/Jasper (close second). Quebec City (at least the old part) reminds me of a European city, and Banff & Jasper are just beautiful.

I've only been to Canada once and stayed in Vancouver. I love how laid back the place it. We also got to go around different tourist spots, but I liked Capilano Suspension Bridge the best! It's a bit nervewracking to just cross the bridge, but my family and I had a lot of fun.

I am looking forward to visiting Montreal around Christmas time, maybe spending my Christmas holidays there and enjoying the wonderful environment. The green grass and the wonderful people. The clean air that I can breathe in and the silence of relaxing. I love that. I have been in Vancouver last year and I made kind of a road trip with friends of mine to Montreal for a weekend and I loved it so much there that I have to see it again, but longer so I can get to know the environment, the city and the people there a little bit better.
