Default Old San Juan

Anyone have any suggestions on where to stay near Old San Juan? We have two nights before a cruise and want to stay close to town. We travel in January 2003.

Default Hotel Milano in old San Juan

Check out www.hotelmilanopr.com We stayed there for a night before and a night after our February 2001 cruise. This historic hotel is in a great location in Old San Juan.

Default Old San Juan

Wyndham Old San Juan is across from the cruise docks. They now require a minimum two night booking. Can walk to all the Old San Juan sites from there. A couple of good, interesting restaurants within walking distance.

Default Old San Juan Hotel

We stayed two nights at The Hotel Milano--it is right in the middle of Old San Juan. Very handy to a very interesting area--completely different from the beach area (Condado). Easy to arrange for a taxi to the dock.

I stayed in the Condado area -- the Condado Plaza Hotel and Casino. It's a very nice area and a short bus ride to Old San Juan.

Stay at the Wyndham! It's convenient, close to the ship, great hospitality and you can drink their hotel water!

If you aren't on a tight budget, I would highly recommend this hotel in Old San Juan, which is very close to the cruise ship port:

It is an old, beautiful hotel in a perfect location.

My wife and I stayed there for one night couple years ago before departing on our first cruise vacation. It was about $290usd. I'm sure you could find something cheaper but this place is quite an experience. We can't wait to return.
