Has anyone been to Paradise Island lately? I was there about 3 years ago and there was a lot of construction going on near the Atlantis/Comfort Suites. I was wondering if this has been cleared up, as I'm thinking of going back. I had a great time there, even though it was chillier than expected (we went in Jan.) Anthonys Caribbean Grill was the best, esp. happy hour!

Hi Elizabeth, the construction you were referring to was the enormous underwater casino featured at Atlantis. I am pretty sure that has been completed and is open to the public.
I have heard it is worth the trip! See you on the beach, Michele |

Our cruise ship docked in Nassau also and we took a cab over to Paradise Island. Cabbage beach is right near the hotel your talking about I believe and we didnt see any construction, we just were there 2 weeks ago. I took my kids jet skiing(You can rent them reasonaly through a man who calls himself Elvis even has an Elvis ring
It was about 45 he was charging people I think but I opted for 2 jetskis and was supposed to go over to another island and see the dolphins but I wiped out with my 9 year old daughter on the jet ski and was nervous after that just getting the jet ski out on the water! So I decided to just stay around the beach area for my time. One of my daughters who is 16 went parasailing and was told she could go nude if she wanted, that some people opt to do it nude! ( Im glad shes self consious.Be weary of the beach vendors though. One we met would NOT leave us alone. She wore a teeshirt over her head with a straw hat on top of that! I ended up buying something from her just to get her to leave me alone!!

We are planning a trip to Paradise Island/Atlantis. There are 3 towers, can anyone help with what that's all about. Which is the best? We are looking for very good accomodations. We don't want to end up looking at a parking lot.
Thanks, Bill |

The Royal Tower is the best of all but also the most expensive one. So it depends on how much you do want to spend. You do know that Atlantis Resort and Casino is a very big building. Some people do not like it because to many people at the pool side or even at the beach. Check out also Ocean Club located next to Sheraton Grand - also on Paradise Island. But I was wondering that even over there they have stolen a car from the owner Sol Kerzner when he was off the island. On the other hand there is a gated community.
Some people say Atlantis is not worth. For me personally it would be too big, because I prefere buildings not higher than three floors in order to get the caribbean experience. You can visit also www.nassau-paradiseisland.net.tc. There you will find some pictures as well. |
