Crane Beach Hotel

In the spirit of reviving this board, I have been thinking about a trip back to Barbados. My last visit was in 1989 when we stayed at the Heywoods Resort for 2 weeks. It was a gov't owned (I think) property back then. I understand it is operating under a new name Almond Beach and it an all-inclusvie. I loved renting a mini moke and touring the island independently. Most memorably we were caught in a torrential downpour (it was June afterall) and came upon an older woman and her goat, with a large crate of fruit balanced on her head. We stopped to offer her (and her goat) a ride home. She (and the goat) humbly accepted our offer..what a hoot!
Now for my question...We are dying to stay at the Crane Beach Hotel. I see that they have some new or recently completed construction going on. Can anyone tell me how this place has changed since 1989 and whether or not the new construction is still in progress or complete. Any other thoughts appreciated. Regards, Judi

The last time I visited Crane Beach was also about 4 or 5 years ago. It is a lovely property but the water is very dangerous. I love the Christchurch area with it's more gentle swimming. I have a time share at Sand Acres Hotel A very friendly hotel and very well appointed. I can not go back this winter If anyone wants to use my condo at Sandacres Feb 21 to March 6 2004 drop me a line
