Hello Aruba fans,
We're thinking of going to Aruba for the first time, probably sometime in late September, early Obtober and desperately needing some R&R in a peaceful, quietyly elegant, tropical setting. We are not really into gambling but we enjoy dining and maybe some live music in the evenings. AS it's's this would be our first visit to Aruba but not the Caribbean, we'd appreciate suggestions on which part of the island to situate ourselves in and what type of hotel might offer us a sedate but leisurely environment that we would enjoy very much. We are flexible as to the room rates, mostly looking for something nice and in the mid to upper level price category. From our experience on past trips, once we have fixed upon a place to stay, we know how to try and negotiate a nice room rate. Now, all we need are suggestions and we can let the negotiations begin! We'll also look forward to a relaxing, peaceful time away from this big crazy city we live in! Thanks in advance for your input! |

Our favorite place is at Tierra del Sol & Country Club renting a two bedroom Cottage but its not on the beach. Great viewing of sunset & the ocean while enjoying the surroundings. You do get beach access close-by. Our next favorite place is the Hyatt Regency Resort & Casino but they have no balconies to speak of & the rooms are small in comparison to the Marriott & Radisson resorts. I would op for a suite at the Hyatt. The Hyatt, Radisson & Marriott are located on Palm Beach where the water is very smooth & all resorts have a tropical feeling. The pool area within the Hyatt is great! We perfer Palm Beach over Eagle Beach as the water has no waves. Eagle Beach is less crowded & has the low rises compared to Palm Beach which are high rises.
You know that Aruba is a desert Island but what a beautiful place it is in the eye of the beholder. Aruba is out of the hurricane belt so you shouldn't have any problems with storms & the people are very pleasant & friendly. |

The Wyndham is very nice. Also the Marriott and Hyatt are nice. You can really do anything you want on the island. It is relaxing but also has bars. It has Casinos but some are pretty quiet.
We spent most of our days there at the pool or beach and at night we would go to dinner and maybe the casino for an hour or so. If you need anymore info ..fell free to call me.. nicole@myhoneymoonplanner.com

For me, there is only one hotel in Aruba. The Hyatt. It's head and shoulders above every other place on the island, IMO. We've toured through the Holiday Inn, the Radisson, the Wyndham and the Marriot and none can hold a candle to the Hyatt.
